Thank you for choosing locally produced herbs

I’m  Agnès Brosset, a Dr. in plant ecologist, herb grower, and herbalist with a deep passion for plants and nature. I hold a PhD in chemical ecology and have extensive experience working with plants. My journey with herbs started while I was living in Finland, driven by a desire to live a zero-waste lifestyle and reduce my carbon footprint. I wanted to rely on local produce, but it was difficult to find herbs and food that weren’t imported from far away. This led me to start foraging and growing my own herbs as a way to connect more deeply with nature and cultivate a more sustainable way of living.

About Agnès

After moving to Sweden, I noticed that most herbs available in stores and online were imported, often losing their freshness and quality during long transport and practices of the supply chain. There was a clear need for locally grown, high-quality herbs that could support people’s well-being while also respecting the environment. In France, where I grew up, there is a rich tradition of local herb cultivation. I wanted to bring that same concept to Sweden which inspired me to establish Nordiska Örter, Sweden’s first herb market garden dedicated to providing fresh, high-quality herbs directly from farm-to-package.

Nordiska Örter is not just a herb farm but an educational center where people can come together to learn, volunteer, and explore the wonders of nature. I hope to inspire others to cultivate a deeper connection with the natural world and embrace a more self-sufficient lifestyle.

Nordiska Örter was born from a simple idea: to reconnect people with local nature.

At Nordiska Örter, I am dedicated to:

•Growing fresh, high-quality herbs using sustainable, chemical-free farming practices.

•Ensuring transparency from farm-to-package so you know exactly where your herbs come from.

Empowering my community by teaching people how to grow, forage, and use herbs through workshops and courses.
